(Miami, FL) – The Democracy in the Americas Symposium 2015 (DITAS2015), presented by the Zambrano Foundation, prepares for its fourth conference, which will take place on October 15, 2015 at the Greater Fort Lauderdale Broward County Convention Center in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
DITAS is an annual gathering of world dignitaries, multi-national corporate leaders, prominent scholars, students and social innovators who discuss the latest trends in policy, trade, technology, social innovation and economic development to improve democracy in the hemisphere. The conference is sponsored and organized by the Zambrano Foundation, whose vision affirms that democracy is more than a political system; it is a way of life.
As part of its preparations for this year’s conference, DITAS has announced Andre Rodriguez as its Executive Director. Mr. Rodriguez is President of Influence Communications, a full service public relations, integrated marketing, community outreach, social media, events planning, and web development firm based in Miami, Florida.
“The entire Influence Communications team is proud to be part of DITAS2015,” said Mr. Rodriguez. “It is the view of the Zambrano Foundation for DITAS to become the voice of the future of democracy in the hemisphere, and establish DITAS as a meeting point for democratic thoughts. We are working to ensure that DITAS2015 exceeds the successes of the previous symposiums while paving the way for an even brighter future for DITAS.”
This year’s event will be held within the umbrella of the Florida International Trade and Culture Expo (FITCE), organized by Broward County and under the leadership of Commissioner Dale V.C. Holness. This exhibition attracts hundreds of international and US companies looking to expand their businesses in South Florida, providing tools and resources for those who want to live and work in South Florida.
In previous years, DITAS has presented leaders such as President Luis Alberto Lacalle of Uruguay, President Vinicio Cerezo of Guatemala, former president of the Inter-American Development Bank Enrique V. Iglesias, Cuban journalist Yoanni Sanchez, among others. To learn more about previous DITAS conferences, please visit: https://www.ditas.org/
